Moss (born February 13, 1977) is an ex- American football player. He played
with the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots (New England
Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans) as well as the San Francisco
49ers in the National Football League. Along with Jerry Rice, he is widely
considered the greatest wide receiver of all time. He holds the NFL single-year
touchdown reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the first NFL single season
touchdown mark (17 in 1998). Moss is as the second highest in the NFL all-time
regular season touchdown list with 156. Moss was famous for his skill at
securing his contested catch "mossed" is nowadays a football term.
Following his professional football career began, he was hired as a studio
analyst for ESPN for the Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night
Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia native. Moss was a student at
DuPont High School. This was one of the two schools later combined to form Riverside
High School. He was a star in basketball, football and baseball. Randy was also
a member of the school’s debate team. On the field of football, Moss led the
DuPont Panthers to two state championships in 1993 and 1992. Moss was an
outstanding wide receiver as well as playing free safety in return kickoffs and
punts, as well as was the team's kicker and punter. In 1994, he was honoured by
the Kennedy Award as the West Virginia Football Player of the Year. Parade
magazine named him to their All-American high-school football team in the year
1995, and in 2009 his name was named among the top 50 football players from
high schools ever.
